Fergie

A Female Pomeranian-x presently Available For Adoption

Fergie is my name and I am a proud, spunky, Pomeranian mix who loves to voice my concerns.  Volunteers say that it isn’t a question of whether I bark or not, but do I ever stop.  Well, before you stop reading and go on to the next adoptee, listen up.  Like all dogs, a Pom’s bark is her voice.  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!  It is my only way to ask you for something, warn you that there is an intruder, or simply gain your attention for no other reason than wanting your companionship.  You must realize that I am not just another pretty face, I also have needs.  Dogs – believe me or not – bark for reasons.  One is self protection; easy enough to solve … make me feel safe.  Another is excitement; how about obedience training to teach me some of my commands (one of them being “no” to stop the barking).  Last but not least is boredom which often translates to “cabin fever; let’s get out there and walk, play fetch, get some interactive toys that will put my mind to work.  By now, you realize that I am not apartment, condo, attached housing material!  I do have a condition called “luxating patellas” (trick knees) but surgery will not be required.  In order for my knees to not become a problem, I must keep off any excess weight and exercise daily to strengthen the muscles that hold my knees in place.  I may not be perfect but you don’t need to be either.  I get along with other dogs and I am okay with the cat.  I would do well in a home where I am not alone too much during the day; I was an unclaimed stray and do not like the feeling of being abandoned.   So here I am waiting for a great new family ready to make the commitment to give me a wonderful life!  Hurry, hurry!  Fill out the Adoption Form and I would love for you to be the one that I choose.
