A Male Bernese Mountain Dog presently Adopted
While I laid in the ditch near death, I thought of my hero, Charlie Brown. One of his famous quotes was, “never, ever, ever give up”. I didn’t. I laid there for what seemed like an eternity until help finally arrived – AMR brought me to safety. No one is quite certain if I was hit by a car or if I was just dumped and left to die …. but die I did not. I spent several weeks at Lasalle Veterinary and for a while it was touch and go. Of course, I kept thinking of Charlie Brown and continued to fight. One of my injuries was a badly wounded shoulder although in the end, it did not require surgery. I may walk with a slight limp but I’m alive and I am grateful. I was finally released from the hospital this week and I’m now ready to make my next move … right into a home with humans who will be committed to my care and well being for the next 10 to 12 years. I am a goofy, adolescent who is full of personality; my antics might keep you smiling for a while but I could use some work on my manners. I may well look full grown but I am still a baby at heart, so continued obedience training and confidence building are in order. I know that every human that I have met since that fateful day has wanted only to help so I have not been left with any distrust. In fact, I look forward to meeting my new family. Are you the one who will give me the forever home that I’ve been dreaming of? Let me show you what a wonderful dog I can be; fill in the Adoption Form. Who do you ask for? Good grief, CHARLIE BROWN of course.
“Always remember that your present situation isn’t your final destination. The best is yet to come.” -- Charlie Brown (Charles M. Schultz)
P.S. I require a feline-free home!
