Update - Feb 23: Chad here, just checking in to let you know that I am presently residing at FIC in Laval. They have kindly taken me in to give me a head start on training. Being that I am so young, I am soaking up everything like a sponge and of course everyone thinks I am very cute. The one specific issue that Virginie and her students will be focusing on is my resource guarding with other dogs. It's not unusual canine behaviour, especially in Northern dogs, but FIC is just going to make sure that it is under control and then offer suggestions to the family that adopts me. Gotta go .... I've got more work to do and the students are waiting for me! By the way, no cats for me!
Photographing black dogs can be a challenge but Pierre, our awesome photographer who jumps in when Gary needs to spend time in the sun, nailed it with me. Boy, am I a handsome BBD (Big Black Dog) and since I still have a fair amount of growing to do, I will be twice as handsome full grown. The dogs around here yap that I may be chosen last simply because of my color. Let me tell you I can make your life just as happy as any dog – black, blonde, or multi-coloured. Every dog, regardless of colour, can make your life blissful and I intend to tell you how much I love you with every wag of my tail and slobbery kiss. Chad is my name and fun is what I am all about. I realize that I am no longer lap size, but a guy can’t be blamed for trying to find a one that might fit. I am here thanks to the Nordic Paws Project who tirelessly continue to help us. What you see is what you get – if you want history, I don’t have any to speak of. Of course, I am an active, outdoorsy pup which means lots and lots of exercise is a must. So, what are you looking for? Companionship? I can offer that! A handsome best friend and a great playmate? Look no further! A loyal buddy to stick by your side for years to come? No problemo! I am still a diamond in the rough so obedience training would be recommended; I am sure that we will both learn a ton of stuff. I am too young and active to spend the day on my own, so I am on the lookout for a family where I am not on my own all day. If you think that you have what it takes to be my ride-or-die human, then by all means fill in that Adoption Form. I can hardly wait to meet you.
