Candy

A Female Goldendoodle presently Available For Adoption

My name is Candy and what a perfect moniker for me – you will not find a sweeter dog.  I find myself in need of a home because my human’s situation changed and thought it best to rehome me.  I am gentle, I am affectionate, I love all creatures of the four and two-legged variety, and I have very limited vision.  You see I had dry eye which requires medication but I went too many years without it.  At first, there was talk of removing my eyes but the good Doc (aka Vet) wants to try drops and attempt to save them because I do have limited vision.  I really don’t care that I don’t see very well because I can do anything a dog with perfect sight can do.   Do I enjoy long walks and car rides?  Of course.  Will I bug you for food when I hear you open the refrigerator?  You bet.  Will you be able to love me as much as a dog with 20/20 vision?  Most definitely!  What I don’t see with my eyes, I see with my heart.  I will see your joy when you tell me I’m a good girl, I will see your affection when you give me a belly rub, and I will see your pride when you introduce me to friends.  Of course, it will take me a while to get used to my new surroundings and it would be a good idea not to move the furniture around on me too often.   I will show you courage, strength, and confidence in everything I do and I intend to live life to the fullest with you by my side.   If you are the lucky one to adopt me, you must understand that it is important that you be willing to put drops in my eyes twice a day and for the rest of my life..  If they are to save my eyes, we must follow the Vet’s instructions.  I get along with other dogs and cats don’t bother me at all.  If you are in a house, a fenced yard to keep me safe is important.  At seven years old, I am well aware of what it takes to be part of a family and although life has been a little rough lately, I have a feeling that things are looking up for me.  So, don’t miss out on a chance to adopt an amazing dog, fill in the Adoption Form and you might be the one to have me as your new best friend.

• Candy will require two different types of drops to be administered twice a day.  One medication costs approximately $40.00 and the other $70.00
