A Female Poodle presently Available For Adoption
Update - Sep 13: Good news for Camembert. After consultation with the Animatch Vet, it was decided that she would not have to undergo surgery. At this time she is not showing any signs of discomfort and we do not want to put her through an operation. Although, Camembert will never be a jogging partner, she will make a formidable companion on daily jaunts around the neighbourhood.
Update - Sep 10: Much as I like to be held and cuddled, my dislike of being on the ground didn't seem normal to the people at Animatch. So, after x-rays were done, it turns out that I have "necrosis of the femoral head". Big words that I don't understand but apparently it means disease of the hip joint. I don't care what they call it, I just know that it is painful. Helen took one look at me and said "what a time for this to happen!" So, I will soon be going in for surgery and in time I hope to make a full recovery. I'll give you a progress report later on but in the meantime, please help Animatch out so that they can build their centre and help more dogs like me.
One day I know that I will find the courage, confidence, and trust that will last forever. Once in a while my trust rises above my fear and that’s when I am the happiest. Sadly, a loud noise, sudden movement, or the presence of unfamiliar people causes my trust to vanish, yet again. With your help, I’m hoping that the good times will soon far outweigh the rough ones. If given the chance to live in a quiet home with loving and patient humans, allowed to have adequate exercise, and feel safe from harm, I believe with all my heart that my courage and confidence will become visible. I already adore the feeling of melting into a human’s arms while being cuddled and spoken to in a soft encouraging voice. I am one of the “cheesy bunch” who was recently released from a life of breeding and therefore I haven’t had a typical upbringing. We don’t come toilet trained so I’m counting on you to help me with that. Leash-walking is a total mystery to me; yet again I will be counting on you to work with me and give me the reassurance I need. If you have another dog in your home, I would like to follow his lead. I am looking for a permanent relationship; I don’t want any more disruptions in my life. If you have experience, all the better, but if you don’t you must do your research on adopting a former breeding dog. I would do best in an adult home or one with older children. So, if you feel that you can give me the life that I have only been able to dream of up to this point, please fill in the Adoption Form. My name is Camembert.
