A Female Labrador-x presently Adopted

Update - December:  Here I am in my new home trying hard to be the best dog that I can be.  Special thanks to my Foster Mom who got me on the road to being a wonderful family member.

Update - November:  Ada here and I’m just checking in from my Foster Mom’s home.  Animatch felt I could use some work on my manners and the knew the perfect person to steer me in the right direction.  It’s amazing what guidance and training can do; in fact, I am learning so many new skills. Since I am very food motivated (I have Lab in my DNA), I love to work.  I am making strides – slowly but surely – in slowing down my reactivity to passing cars, bicycles, and other dogs when I’m on leash.   I have an over the top, rough-and-tumble play style.  My foster brother gets me but a lot of dogs would find me annoying right off the bat, you have to monitor my play and separate me from other dogs when the other dog wants to be left alone, because I pretty much never stop on my own. Put it this way, if dog parks are your thing, I’m not the right dog for you right now.  I will need lots of exercise every day – let’s do it together.  My perfect family is out there and my wish is that I am in my new home before Christmas.  Would it be yours?  Fill in the Adoption Form and ask for Ada.

Hi folks, my name is Ada.  I’m a gorgeous Lab-mix who along with my six puppies arrived at Animatch thanks to the Nordic Paws Project.  Some words that people might use to describe me are – easy going, gentle, laid back – of course that is until I spot a cat, a rabbit, or a chicken.  Then I just can’t hold it together.  I am 55 lbs. of pure muscle and if you don’t follow I will try to drag you to get where I want to go.  To be safe, I need a feline-free home (maybe no rabbits or chickens either).  Needless to say, obedience training classes, combined with a Gentle Leader or an Easy-Walk Harness, will go a long way into making our outings enjoyable.  The Volunteers claim that I am lots of fun, as well as attentive and affectionate.  Have you noticed my gorgeous ash blonde coat?  Now that my mothering duties are over and I have taught my babies all that they need to know to become well socialized dogs, I can’t wait to enjoy some pampering of my own. I get along with other dogs but can’t share my food bowl.  What I really crave is some human attention.  I dream of a life as a family dog – a place where I will eat yummy food, sleep on a comfy bed, and play a lot.  I am definitely searching for the family that understands that a dog is forever – that my love is forever.  If you feel that you are that home, please fill in the Adoption Form so that you can have the chance to meet this stunning Lab mix with the big friendly face and enthusiastic wagging tail.  Don’t forget, my name is Ada.
