Rescued is our favorite breed

Salon des Amimaux a Laval which hosts yearly exhibitions for pet lovers has taken an important step – even a baby step is welcomed – in providing an alternative to “buying” a pet.   For Quebec which holds the record for most abandonments in North America, at least this is a move in the right direction.  They have provided a list of rescues (Animatch included) on their website.  This list was put together by the Hopital Veterinaire de la Seigneurie.   Also, they encourage people to complete a questionnaire, which is both informative and educational, as to whether they are even ready for a pet (highlighting cost, long term commitment, time required, and training).  Quebec has a long way to go but even small steps are appreciated.
