Animatch Blog

“If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.”

Time for an update – soil test has been done and Animatch is awaiting results, finalization of plans is imminent, and posts have marked the area before the bulldozer arrives.  In this very spot, we look forward to breaking ground in the next few weeks.  At the moment, all that is lacking is the remainder of the funds to reach our $200,000 goal.  We can’t just build a rough structure and stop – Animatch (aka the dogs) need walls, windows, heating, a quarantine area, storage areas for food and linens, a laundry room and grooming area – it is for this reason that we continue to plead for money.  The current situation is challenging for the volunteers but volunteers are present for a few hours and then they go home.  For the dogs, this is their temporary home and at this time, the conditions are not idyllic.  Indoor time means that they are confined so we try to keep them outside as much as possible.  However, there is no fenced yard which makes it extremely difficult for dogs to mingle and get rid of pent up energy.  Fall and winter will be here in no time and we will not have the luxury of spending a lot of time outdoors, as days get shorter and colder.

Animatch has reached $115,000; we are more than half way to our objective.  This does not include the funds from the Auction and a few other initiatives; however, we still have a long way to go.  Our regular supporters no doubt have sent in their donations but now we have to reach a wider audience, so please continue to encourage family, friends, co-workers, and even the company where you are employed to donate.  We are still optimistic that a corporate sponsor will miraculously appear and offer their financial assistance.  As a society, there is still so much to do when it comes to the plight of homeless and abandoned pets.  Animatch wants to continue but we can’t without your support.  If you have not already contributed, please consider donating now.

Donations can be made through our website --  (Go Fund Me does not provide tax receipts)

cheques are also welcome.
