Abba’s (now Bambi) Journey
Abba, Handee, Sheba, and Hester are all littermates who were part of the Nordic Paws Project with one thing in common. They all have some degree of neurological disorders. Mom, Priska, another one of our Adoptees, was in good health. Karine Gobeil, founder of the Nordic Paws Project, and also a nurse was very interested in finding out what may have caused this or what more could be done for these dogs. For that reason, she started a campaign for funds to have the procedure done.
Abba – now affectionately called Bambi – was the test girl. Danielle Lee, Bambi’s guardian, who also happens to be an Animatch Volunteer offered Bambi her moral support and she went through it like the trooper that she is. She underwent a head to toe MRI at DMV this week. Bambi was sedated and spent 7-8 hours being scanned. The prognosis – nothing unusual except a small narrowing in a portion of her spine.
Bambi didn’t really need answers; she is just happy she has a home with people who adore her. Karine and Animatch were curious as to what, if anything, could be done for these pups. Bambi is ready to meet whatever life throws at her head on; nothing keeps this girl down.
