When Animatch took Bowie into our care for rehoming, we thought that she was a typical, lively puppy. Little did we know that she required immediate surgery, she would not survive without it. Bowie underent a PDA , patent ductus arteriosus , performed by Dr. David Szwec (in photo) at DMV. The prognostic is excellent for Bowie to have a completely normal life without any medication. The cost of this pup’s surgery was an unplanned expense and one that Animatch must now cover. Despite our Emergency Fund being depleted, we had to give this pup a chance. Animatch is reaching out once again and we hope that your generosity will extend to this deserving pup. Yesterday she didn't have a chance, today we can expect a normal life for Bowie. Animatch has humble beginnings. It was founded in 1999 by Helen Lacroix, a busy wife and mother. Her grassroots movement started around her kitchen table. Helen credits her parents with instilling in her their love and concern for animals. Today, Animatch boasts a centre with accommodation for a dozen dogs and a dedicated team of volunteers.
